The Radiology Department at ACT Transcription strives to provide the highest quality radiologic services as an integral part of the health care team while pursing continuous improvement and innovation.
Our department is one of the top radiology departments in the country, serving one of the nation's finest medical centers, and located in a wonderfully vibrant and eclectic city. Our mission is excellence in everything we do.
The Department's strengths begin with its people - faculty and staff. All full-time faculty participate in educational activities and most in research programs, but there is a degree of specialization within the group - three-quarters of the faculty provide clinical care and one quarter are dedicated to research. Radiology's most prestigious professional organizations and associations have repeatedly recognized the quality of Department faculty by electing them to positions of leadership and conferring upon them the discipline's major awards and honors.
ACT Transcription provides clinical services in:
1. Diagnostic Radiology
2. Interventional Radiology
3. Ultrasound
4. Vascular Laboratory
5. Cross Sectional Imaging (CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging)
6. Nuclear Medicine
7. Radiation Oncology
Several of our services are provided by unique centers of excellence formed through partnerships with other departments.
In addition to its clinical services ACT Transcription has two research divisions: Research in Imaging for Diagnostic Medicine and the Bimolecular Structure Analysis Center. Exciting initiatives are underway in these areas, including the development of a Digital Diagnostic Imaging Center, a joint research initiative in functional MRI with the psychiatry and neurology departments, the development of an X-ray extensometer that will allow the identification of breast tissue using monochromatic X-ray energy and two new X-ray sensors.
